Gaining Independence - Gloria

For some growing old alone is somehow alarming. The thought of being old and having no one to be there gives them anxiety. Having white hairs and wrinkles makes them tremble because their beauty is starting to fade and their strength is starting to deteriorate.

But for some people, getting old is a beginning of a new chapter.  A chapter where they find joy and excitement. Where they see beauty in wrinkles and white hair.  A constant reminder of hardship and struggles in the past that made them who they are now.  And for some being alone doesn’t mean they have been abandoned, forsaken, or deserted. Or there is no one, to take care of them.

Rather seeing this on the brighter side. Seeing, this as freedom and escape. Freedom from stress, freedom from pressure, free from responsibility. They can think more about themselves. They can do all the things they want with no doubt and hesitation. And now that they reach the prideful years, they are more focus on making the most out of the remaining years.
