She got engaged
2014 was indeed a year of blessings and new beginnings. I was moving to New York that year and one of my greatest friends got engaged.
I have known Gladies for more than a decade already. We met in college when both of us were in Fatima University taking up Nursing. She finished nursing but I didn’t. I push through with another course.
Even if I transferred to a different college and took up a different course. We never stop being friends and never stop spending time with each other. We became closer as time passed.
We became travel buddies and eating buddies. I love our spontaneous, unplanned travels together. The amount of food that we can eat, surprises people around us.
Gladies has always been very supportive of my career path. I can’t remember where she was not there for me. When Im feeling down she would always say “ kaya yan” or “ sige lang dude”
When I moved to New York that year, I remember telling her I don’t have enough money for my school projects. Without hesitation she said how can I send you money? That gave me a teary eye.
I have mixed emotions when she told me when Rommel asked her to be his wife. I was really happy and excited because I know Rommel is a good man and he will take care of Gladies in all aspects of life. Gladies deserved everything in life. I was also somehow sad because it won’t be the same. I was vocal to her about it. I told her that we won’t be able to hang out more spontaneously like before. Being married is a different life and she will have a different responsibility.
She assured me that we will always be friends and we can still continue our travels together. But not as spontaneous as before. That’s good enough for me.
I’m also happy that you gave me the opportunity to take your engagement photos. I love you both. And may the good Lord bless you always.
